FAQ
What is cold process soap?
Cold process soap-making is mixing fixed oils (GNOME Recipe: organic olive, organic coconut, sustainable palm, organic castor, and organic shea butter) with an alkali (Sodium Hydroxide or Lye). The result is a chemical process called saponification, where the composition of the oils changes with the lye's help to create a bar of soap.
Cold Process soap-making takes 4-6 weeks to produce a long-lasting hard bar of soap. The curing process over the 4-6 weeks allows the water in the soap to evaporate. Soap used before it has adequately cured would dissolve quickly in the shower.
How is GNOME Bath + Body soap different than items at the store?
Commercial brands rely on detergents to cleanse the skin soap, and body products rely on detergents. GNOME Bath + Body harnesses the power of plant-based ingredients to create glycerin, ensuring the body is moisturized while also being cleansed.
